Writing help articles

Every page here is a Markdown file in the codebase. Here's how to add and edit them.

Updated October 19, 2026

The help center is built from Markdown files in content/help/. Edit a file, push it, and the site updates. The full cheat sheet is in content/help/README.md.

How it's organized

content/help/
advisor/ ← public, shown under "Advisor"
    getting-started/ ← a collection
_collection.md ← its title, description, icon, order
01-how-it-works.md ← an article (the number sets the order)
    whats-new.md ← the advisor changelog
admin/ ← unlisted, shown under "Admin"
    ...

The file name, minus the number, becomes the address. 01-how-it-works.md in advisor/getting-started is at /advisor/getting-started/how-it-works.

Don't rename a file that's already published. Other articles and emails may link to it.

Writing an article

Start the file with its details:

---
title: Sharing your profile link
summary: One sentence. Shown under the title and in search.
updated: 2026-10-19
---

Then write. Each ## Heading shows up in the "On this page" list. Callout boxes start with > [!TIP], > [!NOTE], or > [!WARNING].

Updating What's new

Add a line to whats-new.md under today's date whenever something ships:

## 2026-10-19

- **New** Sign in with an emailed link. [How it works](/advisor/getting-started/signing-in)
- **Improved** Something got better.
- **Fixed** Something got fixed.

Admin articles are unlisted

Admin pages are hidden from search engines and from the advisor side's search, but anyone with the link can read them. Write about how things work, never secrets: no passwords, tokens, keys, or notes about specific advisors.
